Got A Sec
Coming soon to iPhone.
Say what you need to do, and Got A Sec puts it in a real free slot on your calendar and reminds you until it's done. You can capture by typing, by voice, with Siri, from a widget, or from a control on the Lock Screen or in Control Center.
Requires iOS 17. Widgets, Control Center and Lock Screen controls need iOS 18.
Letting it use your calendar
Got A Sec needs full calendar access: it keeps your tasks in a calendar of its own and reads your other calendars to see when you're busy. Turn it on in Settings → Got A Sec → Calendars, and choose Full Access.
Which calendars it works with
Any calendar already in the iOS Calendar app — iCloud, plus Google, Outlook or Exchange accounts you've added under Settings → Apps → Calendar → Accounts. Got A Sec reads them through iOS, so there's no separate sign-in.
Does it change my existing events?
No. It only writes to the calendar it created. Everything else is read to find free time, and never moved, edited, or deleted.
Turning reminders on
Allow notifications in Settings → Got A Sec → Notifications. Without them nothing reminds you.
A reminder vanished before I saw it
In Settings → Notifications → Got A Sec, set Banner Style to Persistent, so a reminder stays on screen until you act on it. Reminders are Time Sensitive and come through most Focus modes; to be sure, add Got A Sec to a Focus's allowed apps.
Capturing in one press
On an iPhone with an Action Button, go to Settings → Action Button → Controls → Got A Sec. Without one, add “Got a sec?” to the Lock Screen or Control Center, or add the Got A Sec widget. You can also say “Hey Siri, Got A Sec.”
A place didn't remind me when I arrived
Places need location access, in Settings → Got A Sec → Location. With Always, Got A Sec notices you've arrived even when it's closed. With While Using, iOS shows a simpler alert when you arrive.
Getting a refund
Apple handles App Store purchases, so refunds go through Apple rather than us. Sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, choose “I'd like to,” then “Request a refund.”
Moving to a new phone
If your Got A Sec calendar syncs through iCloud, your tasks come back on their own. Your hours and other settings are kept on the phone, so you'll run setup once more.
Downloading it again
Got A Sec is tied to your Apple Account, so you can install it again at no extra charge on any iPhone signed in to that account: open the App Store, tap your photo in the top corner, then Purchased.
